Forum UNIV: 4.000 students attend international congress in Rome

Since 1968, thousands of university students have gathered in Rome to take part in a forum called UNIV. The conference is organized by ICU and its mission is to enrich the cultural, historical and spiritual experience of Holy Week in the Eternal City. This year, the theme is: 'Pulchrum: the power of beauty'.

“The truth is that beauty is an integral part of human beings. It allows people to fully develop their thinking and talent. In essence, it's what makes humans, human.” Stefan Mückl, President, UNIVForum 2012

Several guests will speak at the conference, including Ennio Morricone, who composed the soundtracks for films like 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.' Also speaking is Etsuro Sotoo, one of the sculptors of Barcelona's Holy Family, and Scott Hahn, writer and theologian, who authored “Rome, sweet home.”

“These guests are wery well prepared, they're very good at what they do. But we shouldn't forget others who will be at the conference. From the attendees, to those who will present exhibits. It's a conference that will touch on the importance of many subjects.” Stefan Mückl, President, UNIV Forum 2012

Stefan Mückl is president of UNIV 2012. It's the sixth time he's attending this meeting but his first as president. His responsabilities include selecinting the best works of the conference. The meeting is a way for youth from different countries and cultures to interact and celebrate Easter in Rome.
